I've been reluctant to post this for several reasons. I had thought this was already up on my website, I long lost the Japanese web url which hosted the oekaki I drew this in, and forgot the name of this Japanese mascot.
Drawn on it's website oekaki a month, I think, before my last oekaki image submission from two years ago. Then, just now, I came across this DA account that is a club based on this same character and web strip. So, yay, I found the website again.
Check out the Habanero-tan strips. They are quite amusing and cute (and, holy sh!t, translated). I'm giddy. I hope to one day try this Japanese snack this character is based on. I'm a sucker for habanero.
